Anna Wintour writes that this year, with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the theme of New York would become even more relevant. She acknowledges the uplifting and inspiring community spirit and coming together of all civilians contributing to the relief effort.
'Mayor Bloomberg, Governor Christie, President Obama - put aside their differences aside for a day, a week, or a month to come together. And I am both humbled and awed by those who worked so bravely and tirelessly at the front lines of Sandy and her aftermath - and continued to do so long after the camera crews had left.'
Tribute is payed explicity by the Storm Troupers story (pictured above).
