Entering the Dream Downtown for Prabal Gurung’s Dinner and After Party, his FW12 theme, “Uncursed”, was immediately apparent . Reflecting the ethereal, abstract violet floral motif of the runway, every detail was custom designed to reflect Prabal’s inspiration. Black-clothed tables overflowed with fragrant purple magnolias in sky-high vases, accented by a 100 golden tea lights. The invitation and menus too complemented the “Uncursed” theme, morphing through to white, gold, blue and black tones.
New to the scene, The New York Issue is an event production and creative planning agency that’s already working with some of the biggest names in the industry - including Christian Louboutin, Lovecat Magazine, and of course Prabal Gurung. TNYI’s founders Tala Yasseri and Andrea Rajacic began their careers with the Milk Studios family, and since going out on their own, these partygoers turned party planners are bringing high fashion from the runways to the events scene. They take a holistic view of the event management process: creative concepts and innovative design, immaculate installation and production, expert public relations and on-site management. Everything maintains their signature understated, elegant aesthetic but from décor to menus to music their productions remain fully customized.
In June, The New York Issue will be working with ACRIA (AIDS Community Research of America) on an event and Le Book on their Connections New York After Party.
