Now through March 17th Maccarone is hosting the first solo exhibition by New York based Artist Ryan Sullivan
Sullivan layers large scale canvases with latex, enamel and oil to create pooled pockets of rich, murky color. Striking, inspiring, abstraction.
He employs material driven and process based methods, rendering his work brushless. Sullivan creates a sincere abstract expression removed from the idea of artist, brush and canvas, producing more of an experience than a creative display.
The rippling and cracked skin of his canvas is textured and sumptuous and you can’t help but enjoy the ominous indulgence of decay and disintegration. We advise stopping by this stark space to see and experience Sullivan’s work…
