If you haven't heard by now, Lady Gaga and Barneys New York have joined forces to create a special pop-up store just in time for the holiday season. Gaga’s Workshop is the pop diva’s own rendition of Santa’s Workshop and has been described as a cross between Tim Burton's “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Beetlejuice”.
Some of the Gaga-inspired pieces that fill the space include a giant arachnid with a human head, a Gaga-inspired train and a cartoon-style sculpture of Lady Gaga herself with blue hair and long fingernails that curl into a heart, which serves as the centerpiece of the 5th-floor workshop. And it's shopping you can feel extra-good about: Barneys is donating 25% of sales of all items from Gaga's Workshop to Lady Gaga's new charity, Born This Way Foundation , which focuses on youth empowerment and fights bullying. Prabal attended last week's opening and did a little Christmas shopping for his Gaga-obsessed niece and nephew back in Nepal.
Barneys New York, located at 660 Madison Ave, in New York City is home to Gaga’s Workshop but the Gaga-inspired gifts are also available on www.gagasworkshop.com. The workshop will be open through the New Year, closing January 2nd, 2012. |
