Our Spring 2012 collection was deeply inspired by contemporary artist, Nobuyoshi Araki photographic series, “Sensual Flower.” These flowers have a beautiful disintegrated quality to them from a distance, but when viewed up close, there is a feminist slant that speaks to the empowered woman. In this series we thought it would only be appropriate to highlight Araki's evocative career, as his work has served as such a source of inspiration.
In addition to "Sensual Flower", Nobuyoshi Araki is best known for his snapshot-style images of women often tied up with ropes or posing in insinuating postures. Araki is a master poet of feminine eroticism, who is not afraid of emotions, as he often uses the camera as way to connect with the subject. Through his sensual lens, Araki invites the viewer to experience an extreme eroticism, human desire and contradictions of Japanese society.
Similar to Araki "Sensual Flower", the Spring 2012 collection is aimed at empowering women through confidence and strength. To learn more about Nobuyoshi Araki click here.
