Documentaries That Make a Difference : 'Nepal's Stolen Children'

Each year, thousands of Nepalese girls are deceived by fraudulent men and women who promise them great jobs. These women follow them to the big city, not knowing that they are about to be forced into the brutal world of prostitution. The CNN Freedom Project has partnered with anti-sex trafficking activist Demi Moore in a heart wrenching documentary titled "Nepal's Stolen Children". The documentary premiered on CNN International last night and follows Demi Moore and 2010 CNN Hero / Founder of Maiti Nepal, Anuradha Koirala, in their quest to expose Nepal's sex trade and put an end to modern-day slavery. In this one-hour special, Moore and Koirala speak with dozens of trafficked girls, some as young as 11 years-old, who share their horrific stories of torture. The pair also join one former sex slave who makes her haunting trip home and Moore meets with Nepal's Prime Minister, Jhalanath Khanal, in the hopes of making a change.

This documentary is near and dear to Prabal's heart. In March 2011, Prabal was named the Goodwill Ambassador of Maiti Nepal. Since it's foundation in 1993, Maiti Nepal has rescued more than 12,000 stolen Nepalese children from sex trafficking. A society free from human trafficking is possible and we must realize that it is our responsibility to make this world a better place for all mankind. Please watch "Nepalís Stolen Children". It will replay tonight at 2 a.m., Saturday, July 2 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Sunday, July 3 at 2 a.m. To learn more about The CNN Freedom Project please click here.
