Two weeks ago we were approached by WGSN to decorate a plain white MUJI t-shirt to be auctioned off this evening at the Global Fashion Awards. Proceeds from these shirts will benefit Breast Cancer UK, a patient advocacy and research program. Prabal set out to bring a cocktail sensibility to the classic staple by hand-sewing crimson and jet black paillettes onto the shoulder and cuffing the sleeves for some attitude. From there, the entire team got into the charitable spirit and an impromptu photo shoot became inevitable. Check out the results to the left, featuring our four fabulous interns.
Tonight you can see the shirt live at WGSN's Global Fashion Awards at the Waldorf Astoria. Hosted by Nigel Barker, the Awards will celebrate incredibly deserving people from all of the major business and creative disciplines in the fashion industry, including design, retail (on and off-line), buying, visual merchandising, store design, marketing and ethical practice.
